2022!

I think we’re all hopeful for this year, aren’t we? The past two have been rough. I’m still putting out content on YouTube when I have a project worthy of a video. 2021 had a lot of small projects that weren’t worthy of their own video, and I showcased those in the new Fast 5 Series, where I show 5 projects that either weren’t worthy, or didn’t get filmed as they were in progress. There were 20 of these such projects last year. There will most likely be more this year.

I’m going to be doing some new stuff this year that I’m really excited about. The first thing is getting my complex airplane endorsement in late January. I’ve been putting this off for the past 18 years, and it’s finally time before all the complex single-engine planes are gone. The one I’m gong to be training in is being sold for a silly new TAA this summer, so it’s time to get it done. I’ll also be an advanced ground instructor in February, so there will be instructional flying videos coming this year.

The last thing planned for this year is the launch of DadTime.tv! More on that soon. I haven’t figured out all the details yet, but the essence is teaching elementary-high schoolers STEM topics. It’s going to be more of a show format, and the first several videos are planned out, and I’m just needing a decent camera man and then some time to edit.

I’m really going to try to do better at keeping my website up to date this year. I’ll at least try to keep the downloads page current. I create at least one 3D printed thing per day, and I’ll make sure to upload ones I think might have wide appeal.

Thank you all for sticking with me on YouTube! We’re up to 23,000 subscribers and change as of this post. That’s awesome. Thank you all so much. Your kind words and comments keep me going. It gets tough at times to shoot and edit when I could just simply do the project, but if I figure if only a dozen people learn something, then it’s worth it.

Happy new year everyone! January will be over before we know it. I don’t do new-year’s resolutions; I just set SMART goals like always and go get ’em. The one resolution for this year though will be 1920×1080. Stay tuned…
